Poker terms
All-in – putting all player’s chips into the pot.
Ante – forced bet that each player must make before dealing.
Bankroll – all the money the player is intended to play, all money on one’s account.
Bet – putting chips into the pot.
Bet half the pot – placing a bet equal to a half of the bank.
Bet the pot – placing a bet equal to the bank.
Big blind – forced bet that is made without looking cards, made by the player, who sits second in a clockwise direction from the dealer.
Blind – bet blind. See Big blind and Small blind.
Board – five cards laid on the table face-up.
Bring-in – the first bet on the first round (not including Blind and Ante)
Button – chip indicating the dealer.
Buy-in – money required to take part in a game or a tournament.
Call – matching a bet amount.
Card room – that part of the Casino, where cards are playing.
Cash-in – exchanging money to chips.
Cash out – exchanging chips to money
Center pot – the main bank. See also Main pot.
Check – not to bet, passing the turn to raise.
Deal – to distribute cards.
Dealer – an employee or a player, who deals the cards.
Deck – a set of 52 cards.
Drop – to fold. See also Fold.
Fixed limit, Limit, FL – the minimum and the maximum bets.
Flop – the first three face-up cards.
Flush draw – the situation on the flop or turn when a player needs only one card to collect a flush.
Fold – to drop cards.
Forced bet – See also Blind and Ante.
Hand – player’s cards. Also, sometimes a dealing.
Kicker – unpaired card that allows detecting a winner, where several players have equal combinations.
Lay down – showdown of players’ cards.
Limit – limit on the maximum bet. See also Fixed limit and Pot limit.
Main pot – the main bank. See also Center pot.
No limit – No limit poker, in which the maximum bet is not limited.
Poker room – a place in the casino, where poker is played at special tables.
Pot – Bank of the game.
Pot limit, PL – the type of poker in which the maximum bet is limited, depending on the size of the pot.
Preflop – “pf”; before the flop is dealt.
Raise – raise of a bet.
Rake – chips that casino takes from the pot.
Re-buy – to purchase additional chips. Usually the number of re-bays is limited.
Re-raise – a raise after an already made raise.
River – the fifth given face-up card.
Satellite – a tournament, where the prize is the buy-in to play in another tournament.
Showdown – players show their cards.
Side pot – a separate bank.
Split, Split pot – a situation where the pot is divided in half among players having equal hands.
Stack – total number of player’s chips.
Tie – the same thing as Split.
Turn – the fourth given face-up card in some games.
Let It Ride Poker Rules.
It is one more poker game where the player fights against the casino. The purpose of this game is to get a winning poker hand, which starts from a couple of Tens. Before starting the game the player should place three bets in three boxes specially intended for this purpose. Then three cards are dealt to the player and to the dealer too, the player receives the cards face up, the dealer – face down. Appraising the situation or according to his or her own winning poker strategy, the player must decide to call back one of the bet (Pull Bet), and this bet will be returned to the player, or leave all three bets unchanged (Let it Ride). After the choice made, the dealer discards the top card and opens the second one – it will be the player’s fourth card. The player once again has a choice: to recall one of the bets or to leave it. When a player chooses, the dealer shows the final card, which completes the player’s hand. Hands are paid according to the Let It Ride poker payoff chart:

Let It Ride Poker strategy.
As Let It Ride Poker reminds Stud Poker game, the player can easily use Stud Poker Strategy. But there are some particularities which are characteristic only for this game. So, it would be better to take into considerations our Let It Ride Poker tips and create your own advanced poker strategy.
When three cards are dealt you may leave the bet if you have:
- Paying hand (pair of Tens or higher)
- Three cards of a Royal Flush,
- Three cards of a Straight Flush (three cards of the same suit in sequence)
- Three cards of a Straight Flush, with a spread of 4, with one high card (Ten or higher)
- Three cards of a Straight Flush, with a spread of 5, with two high cards.
With four cards you should leave the bet if you have:
- Paying hand
- Four cards of a Flush, Straight Flush or Royal Flush,
- Four cards of an outside Street with at least one high card (Ten or higher).
If you follow this Let It Ride poker strategy, the mathematical expectation will be about 96.5%.
